Whether you’re coming in for a bikini wax for the first time or your 50th, we have a few tips for making sure you’re happy with your wax results!

Before getting to those tips, let’s start with some basic definitions. We’re often asked, what is the difference between the 3 types of bikini wax services? So let’s start there.

  • Bikini Extended – we’ll remove 1.5 to 2 inches more, including more towards the labia. You can let your esthetician know if you prefer to have the hair removed from your backside.
  • Brazilian – we’ll remove everything from front to back, leaving you completely bare. Chat with your esthetician if you’d like to leave what’s referred to as a “landing strip”

Now that we’re on the same page regarding the different waxing options and you’ll be able to book yourself the right service, let’s talk about preparing for your appointment. A little pre-spa prep can help you to get the best results.[...]   READ MORE >

Prepping Your Skin for Winter Weather

Jenna At-Home Tips & DIY, Spa Notes , ,

Winter will be here before we know it! Although we don’t expect the temperatures to drop too much here in the Lone Star State, the seasonal change can still affect your skin. With a few adjustments to your skin care routine and some strategic spa treatments sprinkled in, you’ll be glowing all winter long.

Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize!

During the wintertime, we get a brief reprieve from heat and humidity. As the air becomes drier, so can our skin. In order to make up for this lack of additional moisture, it’s so important to make sure you’re adjusting your skin care regimen. If you’ve been using lighter moisturizers for the summer and fall, now is the time to opt for a richer cream. Don’t forget to protect your lips and hands as well, as these are often exposed to the elements. Invest in a nourishing lip balm and hand cream.[...]   READ MORE >

We believe stretching is almost as important in holistic wellness as mediation, good nutrition and sleep. Here are four reasons why it’s time to start incorporating stretching into your daily routine.[...]   READ MORE >

“Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” ~ World Health Organization

Mental health usually takes a back seat to everything else in our busy lives. In an age where everyone is always connected and always moving, mental health issues fade into the background. We tend to focus much more on our physical and social health, and we don’t take a minute to think about our mental health. We are surrounded by stigmas about therapy and mental illnesses that make it even harder to acknowledge that sometimes we need to take a step back and focus on our mental state.

There are numerous events and situations that can take a toll on your psychological well-being, from stress at work to a traumatic event such as Hurricane Harvey. Although these are two very different situations, there are tactics you can use to ease psychological trauma and focus on your mental health in either case.[...]   READ MORE >

Make sure to stretch before and after massages

We often discuss the many wonderful benefits a massage can have on the body. From relaxed muscles to an overall reduction in stress and anxiety, the effects massage can have are truly incredible.

Part of ensuring that you get the most out of your massage and that you’re properly caring for your body, is taking the appropriate steps before and after your treatment. Here are some pointers on how to fully reap the benefits of your massage experience.
